Today is David and my two-year wedding anniversary. Sometimes it is so hard to believe we are actually married, much less that we have been for 2 years! I feel blessed beyond measure to be David's wife. He is my best friend. He takes such good care of me and loves me despite my numerous flaws. Just when I think I couldn't be any happier or love him any more, I do! If these past two years are any indication of our future, I am certainly looking forward to it.
Even though our wedding day was June 28th, David and I actually were married on June 23rd at the courthouse in Birmingham. It wasn't how I had planned things, and our reasons certainly weren't romantic in nature, however I am very happy that we decided to do it that way. Not only was it totally and completely romantic, just the two of us saying our vows to each other without an audience, but it also allowed me to enjoy my wedding day more. On my wedding day,I was walking on a cloud. Everything was "perfect". I literally said that word countless times that day. I truly believe the reason why was because I knew that no matter what happened, we were already married, and that really was the most important thing.

So, all that being said, we actually celebrated our anniversary on Wednesday. We went to Olive Garden per my request and had a delicious dinner. (or at least I thought so) Also, he surprised me with a gift certificate for an hour long massage which I am super excited about! He said it was actually for himself because that would be one night that he wouldn't have to give me a massage.

This weekend, we had a very special house guest...Charlie and Riley's cousin Bella! My cousin and her husband went to Nashville for his brother's wedding, and they asked us to keep Bella while they were gone. She is such a sweet, well-behaved girl. The boys had a fabulous time with her. Riley has even been crying quite a bit since she left! David and I loved having her too. David even said he missed her last night when he came home.

This weekend was also David's mom's birthday. Saturday evening, her wonderful boyfriend threw her an amazing party. We had a fabulous time celebrating Carole's "27th" birthday with her.

With so much going on the past few days, I am exhausted. I think I need a few days to recuperate!

Brad and I are thankful to have you guys in Birmingham, yall are our closest family members to us and it means the world to us that yall would open your home up to Bella!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I'm so thankful that y'all are here and I've had the chance to spend time with you and get to know Brad. I am also looking forward to getting to know baby Byrne too. We all love Bella, and are happy to have her visit any time.
