I did it, I did it, I did it, yeah!

Those of you who actually read my blog (all two of you) may remember back towards the end of May when I blogged a little about my quest to get back to my pre-wedding weight. Well, after over a year of making gradual changes in my diet and exercise habits, I finally did it! I'm almost in disbelief. I am so proud of myself. I honestly didn't think that I possessed the will-power necessary to do what needed to be done and stick with it! Maybe I'm finally starting to develop a little bit of fervor to set out and accomplish goals. :) I was just too excited. I could barely contain myself!

Me, last weekend
lookin' lean ;)

More Darling Doodads

First of all, I am super excited to inform everyone that I have already had some interest in my bows. The same day I made my previous post, I also posted pictures of the bows on facebook, and two of David's classmates said that they wanted to purchase one!

I impulsively decided to make a tutu for Marissa Grace's birthday. It was something that I wanted to try eventually, but I figured that her birthday was a good excuse to go ahead and give it a try. I think it turned out well.

I finally received my houndstooth and candy corn ribbons! So, of course I had to go ahead and make an Alabama bow and a Halloween bow!

I just created my etsy shop today. darlingdoodaddesigns.etsy.com/ I haven't listed anything yet, but I did make my own banner!
Right now I can list on ebay without paying any fees. So, I will probably be listing items very soon. I think I'm a little nervous about creating my first listings!

Darling Doodads

I have been in need of a hobby. David is gone studying most of the time, and there is only so much cleaning, laundry, and exercising you can do in a day. And believe it or not, there are actually moments in the day when Riley isn't making a mess! Not only do I need a hobby, but I really don't want to go back to work, but I also want to feel like I'm contributing something financially. So, I've decided to put my crafty ways to use and hopefully kill two birds with one stone. I've decided to start making little girl hair bows. Its just a start. I am hoping that this will be a spring board for many other products in the future. I completed my first bow last night, and I think it turned out pretty good.

This is only my first try. I expect them to get better with practice! I'm currently working on Auburn, Alabama, and Halloween bows. I plan to sell them on ebay and etsy. If you know me personally and are interested, you can e-mail me at darlingdoodads@live.com . I am also open to taking requests if you are interested in something different. I really hope that my endeavor is successful. Wish me luck!

Update: I finished another bow after my original post, so I decided to add a few pictures of it too. In case you're wondering about the Alabama and Halloween bows, I'm still waiting for a couple of things of ribbon to come in, but I promise there will be some coming soon!

I saw this right outside my back door the other day. Its called a blue-tailed skink. It was beautiful and terrifying, all at the same time. To me, it looks like something that should be in South America somewhere, not Birmingham! I've pretty much had my fill of strange critters in and around my dwellings since I've been here. First the scorpions in our apartment and now this! David just better hope and pray I never see one of these inside.
